About
As a marine biologist and SCUBA Divemaster, I take most of my inspiration from the ocean.
Growing up in an artsy family with a mom who scrapbooks religiously and hand makes cards, I was constantly inspired to lean into creativity. I took painting classes when I was a child, and took every art class available to me in high school.
During the pandemic in 2020, I started making clay earrings and sold them on Etsy. I had a lot of fun at first, but over time it became too stressful and not fun anymore.
What started as a fun weekend DIY project to cover up some old stains on a pair of pants has transformed into the most meaningful art I've ever created. Block carving and printing is a craft that feels so right to me - it's tactile, it's colorful, it's forgiving. That's not to say I won't grow bored of this art and switch over to a new medium, though. I also love to embroider, sew, paint, and occasionally make ceramic pieces.
